When you carry family worries or face a difficult time at work, you may begin to see yourself only through what remains unresolved. The list grows long, and you feel smaller in front of it. In a session, I also want to hear what has helped you get this far: who stood beside you, what you learned, and when you felt alive and confident.

A memory in which you recognise yourself with warmth

Perhaps you remember the first person who said, ‘I believe in you.’ Or the day you asked for help caring for a parent and felt that responsibility could be shared. I might ask about that moment: what helped you breathe more easily, what did you receive, and what did you find the courage to do?

In timeline work, these familiar experiences have a place alongside painful ones. I like to listen for the details that bring a memory to life: someone’s words, a gesture, a decision you made. They help us speak about support in a way that is close to your own experience.

What would support look like today?

If you are caring for someone you love, perhaps you need to tell your family, ‘I cannot carry all of this alone.’ If you are starting a project, you may need someone to talk with before making a decision. Together, we explore the difference between the support you want and the support you allow yourself to ask for.

Depending on what emerges, I combine conversation, work with beliefs and intuitive guidance. When you tell me, ‘It is difficult for me to receive,’ that can become the heart of our meeting. I want you to have room to discover what being supported means to you, including in your relationship with the divine, if that connection is part of your life.

Towards the end, we connect what you have discovered with a present need: a phone call you keep postponing, a responsibility you can share, or time for something that nourishes you. Courage can also mean allowing someone to stand beside you.

There are places in your story where you found strength

I may ask about someone who saw you with confidence, or a time when you did something difficult and stayed true to yourself. We give that familiar memory space: what supported you then? In my experience of guiding people, these moments can open a valuable conversation about the support you need now.
