Some choices still hurt long after life has moved on. A relationship you stayed in too long. A professional opportunity you declined. A moment when you remained silent with a parent, although you had so much to say. Perhaps you return to it with the question, ‘How could I have done that?’ I want to offer you space to tell me what you were living through then.

The person you were had a need

If you tell me about a relationship, for example, I might ask what kept you there: hope, love, children, fear of loneliness, a wish to keep your family together? These details matter. Behind a choice you regret today, there may be a need you tried to care for with the resources you had.

In a Timeline Healing exploration, we look together at that chapter and the way you still speak to yourself about it. Perhaps the conclusion you carry is ‘I cannot trust myself.’ This is where I pause with you: how does that sentence affect your current relationship, your willingness to decide, or your confidence in your own voice?

Kindness can have very precise words

Our meeting develops through your responses. Sometimes we need more conversation; sometimes quiet and spiritual guidance, if that feels close to you. I draw on my experience of different methods to follow the theme that opens. It matters to me that you feel heard and able to say even what is difficult to admit.

Together, we might find words that describe that time more fully: ‘I was afraid of losing everything I had built,’ or ‘I needed support and did not know whom to ask.’ As the story gains these details, today’s question can emerge: what support can I offer myself now, what have I learned, and how do I want to choose from here?

Looking back with the understanding you have gained

Perhaps you judge yourself for a choice made when you had little support or saw few possibilities. I invite you to consider the circumstances and resources you had at the time. Gentleness has a deep place in my guidance. We explore what you can understand about yourself today and what you would like to say to the person you were, with the maturity you have gained since.
